I was born and raised in Bourbonnais, IL which is about an hour south of Chicago. Living that close to the city meant that my family was able to vist several times a year. I was able to capitalize on trips to the museums, zoos, festivals, and parks. After living in Illinois for 24 years I moved to Holdrege, NE. My then boyfriend (now husband) was offered a position at Becton Dickinson, so we took the plunge. We lived there for a little over 4 years, but are now living in West Lafayette, IN, which is a perfect location for us. We are equidistant between my family and my husband's family, which means our tiny human gets to be spoiled much easier!
I graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School in May 2008. I started my college career at Loyola University Chicago, but soon realized I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. So, at the end of the school year I packed my things and moved back home. I then started attending community college off and on for the next several years while also working full-time. Eventually I figured out what I wanted to do with my life, so in the spring of 2017 I applied to UNO to finish my degree. I will be graduating this May and will have achieved my goal of earning my degree before I turn 30.
My major is Political Science and my minors are Public Administration and English.
I have had the luxury of traveling to several states and as of 2016, internationally. My domestic travels have been to Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. My international travels include Belize, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. I highly recommend visting these three countries if you get the chance, I had such a fantastic time vactioning there.
I am taking this class to fulfill my last required upper level elective. While I could have taken a course more directly related to my fields of study, this class seemed much more interesting and fun.
I have watched The Long Way Round, The Long Way Down, and the first two episodes of An Idiot Abroad. I watched all of the episodes on Youtube, except for the second episode of An Idiot Abroad which I watched on DailyMotion.
